Get ready to cross the boundaries between real and virtual. We at VR Head in the Cloud believe that VR allows you to transcend beyond your limitations of mind and body. So start your adventure with us today.
I reserved one station for 2+ players, will they all have separate headsets or do they have to share a single headset? Each station has one VR headset that can be shared with up to 4 players. For multiplayer experiences that allow more than one person to be in VR at the same time, please reserve more than one station.
How much does it cost? Our mission at VR Head in the Cloud is to bring VR to the community and help VR grow as a medium. This means providing the best and latest experiences at an affordable rate that can be enjoyed by everyone. A 30 minute session is $30 and a 60 minute session is $45. Each session allows up to 4 players to share a single VR headset.
What is Virtual Reality? Virtual Reality (VR) is an immersive experience that uses various technologies to bring the user into a virtual world. The user wears a headset that accurately tracks their head movements, allowing them to view computer generated environments in a way that convinces the user that the digital objects are really there. We also offer highly sophisticated motion controllers that track the user’s hands, allowing them to reach out and realistically interact with VR objects.
Are there any age restrictions? The minimum age required to put on a VR headset is 8. Children under 12 require additional supervision from a parent or guardian and are recommended to limit their VR sessions. Ages 12+ are allowed to do VR for longer sessions, but any age may come to watch. Specific VR arcade games may have a recommended age rating due to mature content.
What VR systems do you use? Our VR arcade uses the HTC Vive system with full room scale capabilities.
What is room scale? Room scale is the ability to freely walk around a designated play area in the real world, with those actions accurately being mirrored in the VR environment. VR Head in the cloud offers play spaces up to 64 sqft, giving you the freedom to move around in a safe, unrestricted way.
Is VR only for video games? Although VR arcade games are fun and exciting, VR is a growing medium that offers a variety of non-gaming experiences as well. These applications range from art, music, sports, and education. What ties all these different fields together is how VR puts you at the center of the action, allowing you interact with and process the information in new ways.
How many VR systems do you have? We provide 6 VR stations and a viewing lounge. This allows for a group to experience VR simultaneously and play together in games with multiplayer. We mirror what the users see in their headset to TVs so that others can watch the fun! Some games even allow asymmetric multiplayer in which others not in VR can interact and play with the headset user using controllers or even their own phone.
Is there any risk involved? VR Head in the Cloud provides a safe and accessible way to experience VR. We use the latest in technology to provide high performance VR, which minimizes feelings of nausea and motion sickness. We have a chaperone system that creates a highly apparent boundary in VR to the headset user so that they know the borders of the play area. In addition, we have trained staff to help guide the user through the entire VR session.
Do I have to book an appointment? Appointments are not necessary and only serve as a convenient feature allowing you to book multiple VR stations for multiple sessions ahead of time. This method has higher priority than walk-ins, which are still welcome. Booking ahead of time, either through the website or contacting us directly, ensures availability when you come in and helps us provide you or your group the best experience.
What do I need to bring? Everything needed to enjoy VR is provided at VR Head in the Cloud. We do recommend clothes and shoes that allow you to move easily and comfortably.
